    Self-Powered Gauge series

    Self-Powered Gauge series

SPG instruments are pressure gauges explicitly designed for local-level indication. While primarily used on cruise ships, they are increasingly being developed for the local indication of water, urea, and diesel levels in the tanks of various other types of vessels.

Accurate local level readings are especially crucial during tank inspections and level checks. The SPG (Self-Powered Gauge) series consists of a membrane, a capillary, and a gauge. The pressure exerted by the liquid level inside the tank acts on the membrane, which is then transmitted to the gauge through the gas in the capillary. This system’s unique internal mechanism moves the pointer on the custom dial, displaying the desired level value.

The dial scale can be customized to reflect actual tank levels, whether the tank has a regular or irregular shape. It can display both level and volume in any required unit of measurement.

Each SPG instrument is individually calibrated and is capable of operating in the harshest conditions. It accurately measures very low levels and can be used with a capillary length of up to 30 meters. The system’s versatility is further enhanced by its range of installation options, including submerged separators with a top flange on the tank, external mounting with a check valve, or a submerged tube. This flexibility allows it to meet virtually any installation requirement.

SPG instruments are available in standard materials such as SS AISI 316/L and special materials like Titanium or Hastelloy C-276 for parts in contact with the fluid, making them suitable for various applications.

The SPG series is certified by RINA, Bureau Veritas, LLOYD Register, DNV, and ATEX.

More than just precise and reliable, SPG instruments are robust enough to rival electronic devices, while offering significant advantages in installation and maintenance, making them an excellent choice for vessel tank level indication.
